“Venezuela up to date” (24-01-2014)

Ø  To our readers in English: As promised at the end of the year 2012, we offer a “resume” of the principal news in relation  with several important things that happen in Venezuela. Much of this information are originated by free researchers of the Blog group, in order to inform our readers due to the omissions and distortions made by the Venezuelan and International radios, press and TVs

ü  The Venezuelan Government continues administering an initiative of former President Hugo Chavez: producing more than 3 million small computers with programs for basic school. These computers have been donated to the students of the public school all in Venezuela.  Now the program is being extended to secondary school students. 

ü  President Nicolas Maduro presented the annual Memory corresponding to the year 2013 before the National Assembly. A complete revision of the new programs and plans being developed. He announced a New Economic Policy using the special powers conferred to him by the general Assembly.

ü  The President Maduro called for a general meeting with the opposition forces (Governors and Majors recently elected in December 8^th)   asking to all of them for their cooperation to go ahead as “one only government”. Is considered as an effort to reduce social tensions.

ü  The president of the Supreme Justice Court, when opening the 2014 justice administration year informed that all justice system accomplished their work up to 99 % during the year 2013.  This has been considered as a new record in Venezuela.

ü  The national government sold in all Venezuela during the year 2013 the amount of 301.646 tons of food, at prices down up to 50% through the official commercial stores.     

ü  The National Statistics Office informed that during the recent three years, the 94.6% of Venezuelan people do eat three times a day, due the policies developed by National Government.

ü  The authorities of the Bolivarian National University informed that plus than 270 thousand Venezuelan students have finished their studies, since year 2005.

ü  Through the creation of the new “Imports and Exports Institute” the government has revised the procedures to control the mater referred to the U S dollar exchange. This in view of the several violations to the law registered during the year 2013. Now there are two different funds: one with preference rate of change at   Bs. 6, 30 per US $ for those imports needed for the purchase of foods not produced in Venezuela, for the national industries development, and the social programs. Another one at a different rate for the other purchases, private trips to other countries, etc.

ü  A new Law of Costs, Normal Prices and Private Margins (up to 30% on sales) had been approved and stated today.  These Law is an answer of the Government to the illegal “economic war” organized by the
